commit d8a50941c91a68da202aaa96a3dacd471ea9c693 upstream.
We get a NULL pointer dereference on omap3 for thumb2 compiled kernels:

The power management related assembly on omaps needs to interact with
ARM mode bootrom code, so we need to keep most of the related assembly
in ARM mode.
Turns out this error is because of missing ENDPROC for assembly code
as suggested by Stephen Boyd <sboyd@codeaurora.org>. Let's fix the
problem by adding ENDPROC in two places to sleep34xx.S.
Let's also remove the now duplicate custom code for mode switching.
This has been unnecessary since commit 6ebbf2ce437b ("ARM: convert
all "mov.* pc, reg" to "bx reg" for ARMv6+").
And let's also remove the comments about local variables, they are
now just confusing after the ENDPROC.
The reason why ENDPROC makes a difference is it sets .type and then
the compiler knows what to do with the thumb bit as explained at:

commit 98f42221501353067251fbf11e732707dbb68ce3 upstream.
Based on CPU type choose generic omap3 or omap3430 specific cpuidle
parameters. Parameters for omap3430 were measured on Nokia N900 device and
added by commit 5a1b1d3a9e ("OMAP3: RX-51: Pass cpu idle parameters")
which were later removed by commit 231900afba ("ARM: OMAP3: cpuidle -
remove rx51 cpuidle parameters table") due to huge code complexity.
This patch brings cpuidle parameters for omap3430 devices again, but uses
simple condition based on CPU type.
Fixes: 231900afba ("ARM: OMAP3: cpuidle - remove rx51 cpuidle
parameters table")

Cluster pm notifications without level information increases difficulty
and complexity for the registered drivers to figure out when the last
coherency level is going into power collapse.
Send notifications with level information that allows the registered
drivers to easily determine the cluster level that is going in/out of
power collapse.
There is an issue with this implementation. GIC driver saves and
restores the distributed registers as part of cluster notifications. On
newer platforms there are multiple cluster levels are defined (e.g l2,
cci etc). These cluster level notofications can happen independently.
On MSM platforms GIC is still active while the cluster sleeps in idle,
causing the GIC state to be overwritten with an incorrect previous state
of the interrupts. This leads to a system hang. Do not save and restore
on any L2 and higher cache coherency level sleep entry and exit.

commit cc824534d4fef0e46e4486d5c1e10d3c6b1ebadc upstream.
Looks like MUSB cable removal can cause wake-up interrupts to
stop working for device tree based booting at least for UART3
even as nothing is dynamically remuxed. This can be fixed by
calling reconfigure_io_chain() for device tree based booting
in hwmod code. Note that we already do that for legacy booting
if the legacy mux is configured.
My guess is that this is related to UART3 and MUSB ULPI
hsusb0_data0 and hsusb0_data1 support for Carkit mode that
somehow affect the configured IO chain for UART3 and require
rearming the wake-up interrupts.
In general, for device tree based booting, pinctrl-single
calls the rearm hook that in turn calls reconfigure_io_chain
so calling reconfigure_io_chain should not be needed from the
hwmod code for other events.
So let's limit the hwmod rearming of iochain only to
HWMOD_FORCE_MSTANDBY where MUSB is currently the only user
of it. If we see other devices needing similar changes we can
add more checks for it.

In addition to bringing in upstream commits, this merge also makes minor
changes to mainitain compatibility with upstream:
The definition of list_next_entry in qcrypto.c and ipa_dp.c has been
removed, as upstream has moved the definition to list.h. The implementation
of list_next_entry was identical between the two.
irq.c, for both arm and arm64 architecture, has had its calls to
__irq_set_affinity_locked updated to reflect changes to the API upstream.
Finally, as we have removed the sleep_length member variable of the
tick_sched struct, all changes made by upstream commit ec804bd do not
apply to our tree and have been removed from this merge. Only
kernel/time/tick-sched.c is impacted.

commit c021f241f4fab2bb4fc4120a38a828a03dd3f970 upstream.
Fix a parser-bug in the omap2 muxing code where muxtable-entries will be
wrongly selected if the requested muxname is a *prefix* of their
m0-entry and they have a matching mN-entry. Fix by additionally checking
that the length of the m0_entry is equal.
For example muxing of "dss_data2.dss_data2" on omap32xx will fail
because the prefix "dss_data2" will match the mux-entries "dss_data2" as
well as "dss_data20", with the suffix "dss_data2" matching m0 (for
dss_data2) and m4 (for dss_data20). Thus both are recognized as signal
path candidates:
Relevant muxentries from mux34xx.c:
_OMAP3_MUXENTRY(DSS_DATA20, 90,
"dss_data20", NULL, "mcspi3_somi", "dss_data2",
"gpio_90", NULL, NULL, "safe_mode"),
_OMAP3_MUXENTRY(DSS_DATA2, 72,
"dss_data2", NULL, NULL, NULL,
"gpio_72", NULL, NULL, "safe_mode"),
This will result in a failure to mux the pin at all:
_omap_mux_get_by_name: Multiple signal paths (2) for dss_data2.dss_data2
Patch should apply to linus' latest master down to rather old linux-2.6
trees.

commit 4b353a706a86598ba47307c47301c3c428b79e09 upstream.
On OMAP4 panda board, there have been several bug reports about boot
hang and lock-ups with CPU_IDLE enabled. The root cause of the issue
is missing interrupts while in idle state. Commit cb7094e8 {cpuidle / omap4 :
use CPUIDLE_FLAG_TIMER_STOP flag} moved the broadcast notifiers to common
code for right reasons but on OMAP4 which suffers from a nasty ROM code
bug with GIC, commit ff999b8a {ARM: OMAP4460: Workaround for ROM bug ..},
we loose interrupts which leads to issues like lock-up, hangs etc.
Patch reverts commit cb7094 {cpuidle / omap4 : use CPUIDLE_FLAG_TIMER_STOP
flag} and 54769d6 {cpuidle: OMAP4: remove timer broadcast initialization} to
avoid the issue. With this change, OMAP4 panda boards, the mentioned
issues are getting fixed. We no longer loose interrupts which was the cause
of the regression.

commit 698b48532539484b012fb7c4176b959d32a17d00 upstream.
When an interrupt has become active on the INTC it will stay active
until it is acked, even if masked or de-asserted. The
INTC_PENDING_IRQn registers are however updated and since these are
used by omap_intc_handle_irq to determine which interrupt to handle,
it will never see the active interrupt. This will result in a storm of
useless interrupts that is only stopped when another higher priority
interrupt is asserted.
Fix by sending the INTC an acknowledge if we find no interrupts to
handle.

ARM: OMAP2+: gpmc: add DT bindings for OneNAND
OMAP SoC(s) depend on GPMC controller driver to parse GPMC DT child nodes and
register them platform_device for ONENAND driver to probe later. However this does
not happen if generic MTD_ONENAND framework is built as module (CONFIG_MTD_ONENAND=m).
Therefore, when MTD/ONENAND and MTD/ONENAND/OMAP2 modules are loaded, they are unable
to find any matching platform_device and remain un-binded. This causes on board
ONENAND flash to remain un-detected.

commit b25f3e1c358434bf850220e04f28eebfc45eb634 upstream.
Kexec disables outer cache before jumping to reboot code, but it doesn't
flush it explicitly. Flush is done implicitly inside of l2x0_disable().
But some SoC's override default .disable handler and don't flush cache.
This may lead to a corrupted memory during Kexec reboot on these
platforms.
This patch adds cache flush inside of OMAP4 and Highbank outer_cache.disable()
handlers to make it consistent with default l2x0_disable().

commit 6d4c88304794442055eaea1c07f3c7b988b8c924 upstream.
Commit 7d7e1eb (ARM: OMAP2+: Prepare for irqs.h removal) and commit
ec2c082 (ARM: OMAP2+: Remove hardcoded IRQs and enable SPARSE_IRQ)
updated the way interrupts for OMAP2/3 devices are defined in the
HWMOD data structures to being an index plus a fixed offset (defined
by OMAP_INTC_START).
Couple of irqs in the OMAP2/3 hwmod data were misconfigured completely
as they were missing this OMAP_INTC_START relative offset. Add this
offset back to fix the incorrect irq data for the following modules:
OMAP2 - GPMC, RNG
OMAP3 - GPMC, ISP MMU & IVA MMU

commit 313a76ee11cda6700548afe68499ef174a240688 upstream.
In _ocp_softreset(), after _set_softreset() + write_sysconfig(),
the hwmod's sysc_cache will always contain SOFTRESET bit set
so all further writes to sysconfig using this cache will initiate
a repeated SOFTRESET e.g. enable_sysc(). This is true for OMAP3 like
platforms that have RESET_DONE status in the SYSSTATUS register and
so the the SOFTRESET bit in SYSCONFIG is not automatically cleared.
It is not a problem for OMAP4 like platforms that indicate RESET
completion by clearing the SOFTRESET bit in the SYSCONFIG register.
This repeated SOFTRESET is undesired and was the root cause of
USB host issues on OMAP3 platforms when hwmod was allowed to do the
SOFTRESET for the USB Host module.
To fix this we clear the SOFTRESET bit and update the sysconfig
register + sysc_cache using write_sysconfig().

Unlike what the comment states, errata i660 does not state that we
can't RESET the USB host module. Instead it states that RESET is the
only way to recover from a deadlock situation.
RESET ensures that the module is in a known good state irrespective
of what bootloader does with the module, so it must be done at boot.

Commit a819c4f1 (ARM: OMAP3: PM: Only access IVA if one exists)
changed PM to not access IVA registers on omaps that don't have
them. Turns out we still need to idle iva2 as otherwise
iva2_pwrdm will stay on and block deeper idle states.
It seems that the only part of the reset that may not be needed
is the setting of the iva2 boot mode to idle. But as that register
seems to be there and is harmless if no iva2 is on the SoC, it's
probably safest to do the complete reset.

UART IP idle handling now taken care by runtime pm backend(hwmod) indirectly
and OMAP serial driver is also cleaned up accordingly.
So remove the un-used slave idle platforms hooks now.

OMAP UART IP needs software control for slave idle modes based on functional
state of the IP. i.e The IP slave idle settings should be set to 'noidle' when
being used and then put back to 'smart_idle' when unused. Currently this is
handled by the driver with function pointers implemented in platform code.
This however breaks in case of device tree because of missing idle handling
APIs.
Previous patches in this series added a flag HWMOD_SWSUP_SIDLE_ACTIVE which
takes care of the mentioned requirement. Hence add the flag for all UART IPs
to take advantage of feature supported by framework.
Subsequent patches removes the slave idle handling from driver code.

Some IPs (like UART) need the sidle mode to be controlled in SW only
while they are active. Once they go inactive, they need the IP to be
put back in HW control so they are also wakeup capable.
The flag HWMOD_SWSUP_SIDLE takes care of IPs which need the sidle
mode to be *always* controlled in SWSUP. We now have a need to control
IPs sidle mode in SWSUP only while its active.
So define a new flag 'HWMOD_SWSUP_SIDLE_ACT' to help the framework
know about these new IP requirements.

_enable_sysc() and _idle_sysc() handle the midle mode programming correctly
and program HWMOD_IDLEMODE_SMART or HWMOD_IDLEMODE_SMART_WKUP respectively
for supported IPs (The ones which support hardware controlled midle modes)
However the same programming logic is missing when it comes to sidle mode
programming. Here they seem to just set HWMOD_IDLEMODE_SMART (Again for the
ones which support hardware controlled sidle modes)
This problem was hidden due to the fact that a call to _enable_wakeup()
in those same functions would overwrite the idlemodes and program them
correctly (to HWMOD_IDLEMODE_SMART_WKUP in the supported cases)
So fix the sidlemode handling correctly in these functions and handle the
_enable_wakeup() for SIDLEMODE supported IPs same as the way its handled
for MIDLEMODE supported ones.

It is required to enable respective clock-domain before
enabling any clock/module inside that clock-domain.
During common-clock migration, .clkdm_name field got missed
for "clkdiv32k_ick" clock, which leaves "clk_24mhz_clkdm"
unused; so it will be disabled even if childs of this clock-domain
is enabled, which keeps child modules in idle mode.
This fixes the kernel crash observed on AM335xEVM-SK platform,
where clkdiv32_ick clock is being used as a gpio debounce clock
and since clkdiv32k_ick is in idle mode it leads to below crash -

Commit 6770b211 (ARM: OMAP2+: Export SoC information to userspace)
had some broken return value handling as noted by Russell King:
+ soc_dev = soc_device_register(soc_dev_attr);
+ if (IS_ERR_OR_NULL(soc_dev)) {
+ kfree(soc_dev_attr);
+ return;
+ }
+
+ parent = soc_device_to_device(soc_dev);
+ if (!IS_ERR_OR_NULL(parent))
+ device_create_file(parent, &omap_soc_attr);
This is nonsense. For the first, IS_ERR() is sufficient. For the second,
tell me what error checking is required in the return value of this
function:
struct device *soc_device_to_device(struct soc_device *soc_dev)
{
return &soc_dev->dev;
}
when you've already determined that the passed soc_dev is a valid pointer.
If you read the comments against the prototype:
/**
* soc_device_to_device - helper function to fetch struct device
* @soc: Previously registered SoC device container
*/
struct device *soc_device_to_device(struct soc_device *soc);
if "soc" is valid, it means the "previously registered SoC device container"
must have succeeded and that can only happen if the struct device has been
registered. Ergo, there will always be a valid struct device pointer for
any registered SoC device container. Therefore, if soc_device_register()
succeeds, then the return value from soc_device_to_device() will always be
valid and no error checking of it is required.
Simples. The rule as ever applies here: get to know the APIs your using
and don't fumble around in the dark hoping that you'll get this stuff
right.
Fix it as noted by Russell.
