commit 563ddc1076109f2b3f88e6d355eab7b6fd4662cb upstream.
Currently we try to zero the destination for a failed read from userland
in fixup code in the usercopy.c macros. The rest of the destination
buffer is then zeroed from __copy_user_zeroing(), which is used for both
copy_from_user() and __copy_from_user().
Unfortunately we fail to zero in the fixup code as D1Ar1 is set to 0
before the fixup code entry labels, and __copy_from_user() shouldn't even
be zeroing the rest of the buffer.
Move the zeroing out into copy_from_user() and rename
__copy_user_zeroing() to raw_copy_from_user() since it no longer does
any zeroing. This also conveniently matches the name needed for
RAW_COPY_USER support in a later patch.

commit 35d04077ad96ed33ceea2501f5a4f1eacda77218 upstream.
The definition of atomic_dec_if_positive() assumes that
atomic_sub_if_positive() exists, which is only the case if
metag specific atomics are used. This results in the following
build error when trying to build metag1_defconfig.
kernel/ucount.c: In function 'dec_ucount':
kernel/ucount.c:211: error:
implicit declaration of function 'atomic_sub_if_positive'
Moving the definition of atomic_dec_if_positive() into the metag
conditional code fixes the problem.

commit 6154c187b97ee7513046bb4eb317a89f738f13ef upstream.
The LNKGET based atomic sequence in __cmpxchg_u32 has slightly incorrect
constraints for the return value which under certain circumstances can
allow an address unit register to be used as the first operand of a CMP
instruction. This isn't a valid instruction however as the encodings
only allow a data unit to be specified. This would result in an
assembler error like the following:
Error: failed to assemble instruction: "CMP A0.2,D0Ar6"
Fix by changing the constraint from "=&da" (assigned, early clobbered,
data or address unit register) to "=&d" (data unit register only).
The constraint for the second operand, "bd" (an op2 register where op1
is a data unit register and the instruction supports O2R) is already
correct assuming the first operand is a data unit register.
Other cases of CMP in inline asm have had their constraints checked, and
appear to all be fine.

Merge commit 'v3.10.73' into LA.BF64.1.2.9
This merge brings us up to date with upstream kernel.org tag v3.10.73.
As part of the conflict resolution, changes introduced by commit 72684eae7
("arm64: Fix up /proc/cpuinfo") have been intentionally dropped, as they
conflict with Android changes msm-3.10 kernel to solve the problems
in a different way. Since userspace readers of this file may depend on
the existing msm-3.10 implementation, it's left as-is for now. The
commit may later be introduced if it is found to not impact userspaces
paired with this kernel.

commit c2996cb29bfb73927a79dc96e598a718e843f01a upstream.
The KSTK_EIP() and KSTK_ESP() macros should return the user program
counter (PC) and stack pointer (A0StP) of the given task. These are used
to determine which VMA corresponds to the user stack in
/proc/<pid>/maps, and for the user PC & A0StP in /proc/<pid>/stat.
However for Meta the PC & A0StP from the task's kernel context are used,
resulting in broken output. For example in following /proc/<pid>/maps
output, the 3afff000-3b021000 VMA should be described as the stack:
# cat /proc/self/maps
...
100b0000-100b1000 rwxp 00000000 00:00 0 [heap]
3afff000-3b021000 rwxp 00000000 00:00 0
And in the following /proc/<pid>/stat output, the PC is in kernel code
(1074234964 = 0x40078654) and the A0StP is in the kernel heap
(1335981392 = 0x4fa17550):
# cat /proc/self/stat
51 (cat) R ... 1335981392 1074234964 ...
Fix the definitions of KSTK_EIP() and KSTK_ESP() to use
task_pt_regs(tsk)->ctx rather than (tsk)->thread.kernel_context. This
gets the registers from the user context stored after the thread info at
the base of the kernel stack, which is from the last entry into the
kernel from userland, regardless of where in the kernel the task may
have been interrupted, which results in the following more correct
/proc/<pid>/maps output:
# cat /proc/self/maps
...
0800b000-08070000 r-xp 00000000 00:02 207 /lib/libuClibc-0.9.34-git.so
...
100b0000-100b1000 rwxp 00000000 00:00 0 [heap]
3afff000-3b021000 rwxp 00000000 00:00 0 [stack]
And /proc/<pid>/stat now correctly reports the PC in libuClibc
(134320308 = 0x80190b4) and the A0StP in the [stack] region (989864576 =
0x3b002280):
# cat /proc/self/stat
51 (cat) R ... 989864576 134320308 ...

In addition to bringing in upstream commits, this merge also makes minor
changes to mainitain compatibility with upstream:
The definition of list_next_entry in qcrypto.c and ipa_dp.c has been
removed, as upstream has moved the definition to list.h. The implementation
of list_next_entry was identical between the two.
irq.c, for both arm and arm64 architecture, has had its calls to
__irq_set_affinity_locked updated to reflect changes to the API upstream.
Finally, as we have removed the sleep_length member variable of the
tick_sched struct, all changes made by upstream commit ec804bd do not
apply to our tree and have been removed from this merge. Only
kernel/time/tick-sched.c is impacted.

commit d71f290b4e98a39f49f2595a13be3b4d5ce8e1f1 upstream.
Specify the maximum stack size for arches where the stack grows upward
(parisc and metag) in asm/processor.h rather than hard coding in
fs/exec.c so that metag can specify a smaller value of 256MB rather than
1GB.
This fixes a BUG on metag if the RLIMIT_STACK hard limit is increased
beyond a safe value by root. E.g. when starting a process after running
"ulimit -H -s unlimited" it will then attempt to use a stack size of the
maximum 1GB which is far too big for metag's limited user virtual
address space (stack_top is usually 0x3ffff000):

commit 2425ce84026c385b73ae72039f90d042d49e0394 upstream.
Volatile access doesn't really imply the compiler barrier. Volatile access
is only ordered with respect to other volatile accesses, it isn't ordered
with respect to general memory accesses. Gcc may reorder memory accesses
around volatile access, as we can see in this simple example (if we
compile it with optimization, both increments of *b will be collapsed to
just one):
void fn(volatile int *a, long *b)
{
(*b)++;
*a = 10;
(*b)++;
}
Consequently, we need the compiler barrier after a write to the volatile
variable, to make sure that the compiler doesn't reorder the volatile
write with something else.

A number of situations currently require the heavyweight smp_mb(),
even though there is no need to order prior stores against later
loads. Many architectures have much cheaper ways to handle these
situations, but the Linux kernel currently has no portable way
to make use of them.
This commit therefore supplies smp_load_acquire() and
smp_store_release() to remedy this situation. The new
smp_load_acquire() primitive orders the specified load against
any subsequent reads or writes, while the new smp_store_release()
primitive orders the specifed store against any prior reads or
writes. These primitives allow array-based circular FIFOs to be
implemented without an smp_mb(), and also allow a theoretical
hole in rcu_assign_pointer() to be closed at no additional
expense on most architectures.
In addition, the RCU experience transitioning from explicit
smp_read_barrier_depends() and smp_wmb() to rcu_dereference()
and rcu_assign_pointer(), respectively resulted in substantial
improvements in readability. It therefore seems likely that
replacing other explicit barriers with smp_load_acquire() and
smp_store_release() will provide similar benefits. It appears
that roughly half of the explicit barriers in core kernel code
might be so replaced.

Add an exported header file <asm/ech.h> containing the definitions of
some bits which can be set in D0.8 to indicate to the kernel that
certain DSP state should be preserved. The definitions have the same
names and values as the ones in the kernel-internal <asm/tbx.h>, to
make it easier for DSP assembly code to be compatible between Linux and
non-Linux operating systems.

When starting an SMP hardware thread, copy the cache partition
configuration so that the threads share the same cache partitions. Also
enable the GCOn bit if running in the local half of the virtual address
space to enable coherency of shared local cache partitions. An atomic
unlock system event is executed by the new cpu before any memory is read
to ensure that any writes made by the boot cpu prior to full coherency
taking effect are visible to the new cpu.
This is to allow SMP to work even when the bootloader hasn't configured
the caches for coherency. A log message is printed to describe the cache
partition changes so that the user is aware of potential unintentional
cache wastage if they've configured the cache partitions in the wrong
way.

Make a copy of the device tree blob in non-init memory. It is required
when using built-in device tree files that the platform code copies the
blob to non-init memory prior to calling unflatten_device_tree(),
otherwise the strings that the device tree refer to will get poisoned
and potentially reused, breaking later reading of the device tree
post-init (such as compatible matching in modules, debugfs, and the
procfs interface).

The SMP version of arch_local_irq_enable() uses preempt_disable(), but
<asm/irqflags.h> doesn't include <linux/preempt.h> causing the following
errors on SMP when pstore/ftrace is enabled (caught by buildbot smp
allyesconfig):
In file included from include/linux/irqflags.h:15,
from fs/pstore/ftrace.c:16:
arch/metag/include/asm/irqflags.h: In function 'arch_local_irq_enable':
arch/metag/include/asm/irqflags.h:84: error: implicit declaration of function 'preempt_disable'
arch/metag/include/asm/irqflags.h:86: error: implicit declaration of function 'preempt_enable_no_resched'
However <linux/preempt.h> cannot be easily included from
<asm/irqflags.h> as it can cause circular include dependencies in the
!SMP case, and potentially in the SMP case in the future. Therefore move
the SMP implementation of arch_local_irq_enable() into traps.c and use
an inline version of get_trigger_mask() which is also defined in traps.c
for SMP.
This adds an extra layer of function call / stack push when
preempt_disable needs to call other functions, however in the
non-preemptive SMP case it should be about as fast, as it was already
calling the get_trigger_mask() function which is now used inline.

Add header files to implement Meta hardware thread locks (used by some
other atomic operations), atomics, spinlocks, and bitops.
There are 2 main types of atomic primitives for metag (in addition to
IRQs off on UP):
- LOCK instructions provide locking between hardware threads.
- LNKGET/LNKSET instructions provide load-linked/store-conditional
operations allowing for lighter weight atomics on Meta2
LOCK instructions allow for hardware threads to acquire voluntary or
exclusive hardware thread locks:
- LOCK0 releases exclusive and voluntary lock from the running hardware
thread.
- LOCK1 acquires the voluntary hardware lock, blocking until it becomes
available.
- LOCK2 implies LOCK1, and additionally acquires the exclusive hardware
lock, blocking all other hardware threads from executing.

Add metag system call and gateway page interfaces. The metag
architecture port uses the generic system call numbers from
asm-generic/unistd.h, as well as a user gateway page mapped at

a fast method of accessing TLS data.
System calls use the SWITCH instruction with the immediate 0x440001 to
signal a system call.

Add trap code for metag. At the lowest level Meta traps (and return from
interrupt instruction - RTI) simply swap the PC and PCX registers and
optionally toggle the interrupt status bit (ISTAT). Low level TBX code
in tbipcx.S handles the core context save, determine the TBX signal
number based on the core trigger that fired (using the TXSTATI status
register), and call TBX signal handlers (mostly in traps.c) via a vector
table.

The ptrace interface for metag provides access to some core register
sets using the PTRACE_GETREGSET and PTRACE_SETREGSET operations. The
details of the internal context structures is abstracted into user API
structures to both ease use and allow flexibility to change the internal
context layouts. Copyin and copyout functions for these register sets
are exposed to allow signal handling code to use them to copy to and
from the signal context.
struct user_gp_regs (NT_PRSTATUS) provides access to the core general
purpose register context.
struct user_cb_regs (NT_METAG_CBUF) provides access to the TXCATCH*
registers which contains information abuot a memory fault, unaligned
access error or watchpoint. This can be modified to alter the way the
fault is replayed on resume ("catch replay"), or to prevent the replay
taking place.
struct user_rp_state (NT_METAG_RPIPE) provides access to the state of
the Meta read pipeline which can be used to hide memory latencies in
hand optimised data loops.
Extended DSP register state, DSP RAM, and hardware breakpoint registers
aren't yet exposed through ptrace.
