commit 39380b80d72723282f0ea1d1bbf2294eae45013e upstream.
Currently it's possible for broken (or malicious) userspace to flood a
kernel log indefinitely with messages a-la
Program dmidecode tried to access /dev/mem between f0000->100000
because range_is_allowed() is case of CONFIG_STRICT_DEVMEM being turned on
dumps this information each and every time devmem_is_allowed() fails.
Reportedly userspace that is able to trigger contignuous flow of these
messages exists.
It would be possible to rate limit this message, but that'd have a
questionable value; the administrator wouldn't get information about all
the failing accessess, so then the information would be both superfluous
and incomplete at the same time :)
Returning EPERM (which is what is actually happening) is enough indication
for userspace what has happened; no need to log this particular error as
some sort of special condition.

If more than one application invokes getrandom(2) before the pool

includes change made by merge 0891ad829d2a0501053703df66029e843e3b8365.
The getrandom(2) system call was requested by the LibreSSL Portable
developers. It is analoguous to the getentropy(2) system call in
OpenBSD.
The rationale of this system call is to provide resiliance against
file descriptor exhaustion attacks, where the attacker consumes all
available file descriptors, forcing the use of the fallback code where
/dev/[u]random is not available. Since the fallback code is often not
well-tested, it is better to eliminate this potential failure mode
entirely.
The other feature provided by this new system call is the ability to
request randomness from the /dev/urandom entropy pool, but to block
until at least 128 bits of entropy has been accumulated in the
/dev/urandom entropy pool. Historically, the emphasis in the
/dev/urandom development has been to ensure that urandom pool is
initialized as quickly as possible after system boot, and preferably
before the init scripts start execution.
This is because changing /dev/urandom reads to block represents an
interface change that could potentially break userspace which is not
acceptable. In practice, on most x86 desktop and server systems, in
general the entropy pool can be initialized before it is needed (and
in modern kernels, we will printk a warning message if not). However,
on an embedded system, this may not be the case. And so with this new
interface, we can provide the functionality of blocking until the
urandom pool has been initialized. Any userspace program which uses
this new functionality must take care to assure that if it is used
during the boot process, that it will not cause the init scripts or
other portions of the system startup to hang indefinitely.
SYNOPSIS
#include <linux/random.h>
int getrandom(void *buf, size_t buflen, unsigned int flags);
DESCRIPTION
The system call getrandom() fills the buffer pointed to by buf
with up to buflen random bytes which can be used to seed user
space random number generators (i.e., DRBG's) or for other
cryptographic uses. It should not be used for Monte Carlo
simulations or other programs/algorithms which are doing
probabilistic sampling.
If the GRND_RANDOM flags bit is set, then draw from the
/dev/random pool instead of the /dev/urandom pool. The
/dev/random pool is limited based on the entropy that can be
obtained from environmental noise, so if there is insufficient
entropy, the requested number of bytes may not be returned.
If there is no entropy available at all, getrandom(2) will
either block, or return an error with errno set to EAGAIN if
the GRND_NONBLOCK bit is set in flags.
If the GRND_RANDOM bit is not set, then the /dev/urandom pool
will be used. Unlike using read(2) to fetch data from
/dev/urandom, if the urandom pool has not been sufficiently
initialized, getrandom(2) will block (or return -1 with the
errno set to EAGAIN if the GRND_NONBLOCK bit is set in flags).
The getentropy(2) system call in OpenBSD can be emulated using
the following function:
int getentropy(void *buf, size_t buflen)
{
int ret;
if (buflen > 256)
goto failure;
ret = getrandom(buf, buflen, 0);
if (ret < 0)
return ret;
if (ret == buflen)
return 0;
failure:
errno = EIO;
return -1;
}
RETURN VALUE
On success, the number of bytes that was filled in the buf is
returned. This may not be all the bytes requested by the
caller via buflen if insufficient entropy was present in the
/dev/random pool, or if the system call was interrupted by a
signal.
On error, -1 is returned, and errno is set appropriately.
ERRORS
EINVAL An invalid flag was passed to getrandom(2)
EFAULT buf is outside the accessible address space.
EAGAIN The requested entropy was not available, and
getentropy(2) would have blocked if the
GRND_NONBLOCK flag was not set.
EINTR While blocked waiting for entropy, the call was
interrupted by a signal handler; see the description
of how interrupted read(2) calls on "slow" devices
are handled with and without the SA_RESTART flag
in the signal(7) man page.
NOTES
For small requests (buflen <= 256) getrandom(2) will not
return EINTR when reading from the urandom pool once the
entropy pool has been initialized, and it will return all of
the bytes that have been requested. This is the recommended
way to use getrandom(2), and is designed for compatibility
with OpenBSD's getentropy() system call.
However, if you are using GRND_RANDOM, then getrandom(2) may
block until the entropy accounting determines that sufficient
environmental noise has been gathered such that getrandom(2)
will be operating as a NRBG instead of a DRBG for those people
who are working in the NIST SP 800-90 regime. Since it may
block for a long time, these guarantees do *not* apply. The
user may want to interrupt a hanging process using a signal,
so blocking until all of the requested bytes are returned
would be unfriendly.
For this reason, the user of getrandom(2) MUST always check
the return value, in case it returns some error, or if fewer
bytes than requested was returned. In the case of
!GRND_RANDOM and small request, the latter should never
happen, but the careful userspace code (and all crypto code
should be careful) should check for this anyway!
Finally, unless you are doing long-term key generation (and
perhaps not even then), you probably shouldn't be using
GRND_RANDOM. The cryptographic algorithms used for
/dev/urandom are quite conservative, and so should be
sufficient for all purposes. The disadvantage of GRND_RANDOM
is that it can block, and the increased complexity required to
deal with partially fulfilled getrandom(2) requests.

The Tausworthe PRNG is initialized at late_initcall time. At that time the
entropy pool serving get_random_bytes is not filled sufficiently. This
patch adds an additional reseeding step as soon as the nonblocking pool
gets marked as initialized.
On some machines it might be possible that late_initcall gets called after
the pool has been initialized. In this situation we won't reseed again.
(A call to prandom_seed_late blocks later invocations of early reseed
attempts.)

d07e22597d1d355 ("mm: mmap: add new /proc tunable for mmap_base ASLR")
added the ability to choose from a range of values to use for entropy
count in generating the random offset to the mmap_base address. The
maximum value on this range was set to 32 bits for 64-bit x86 systems, but
this value could be increased further, requiring more than the 32 bits of
randomness provided by get_random_int(), as is already possible for arm64.
Add a new function: get_random_long() which more naturally fits with the
mmap usage of get_random_int() but operates exactly the same as
get_random_int().
Also, fix the shifting constant in mmap_rnd() to be an unsigned long so
that values greater than 31 bits generate an appropriate mask without
overflow. This is especially important on x86, as its shift instruction
uses a 5-bit mask for the shift operand, which meant that any value for
mmap_rnd_bits over 31 acts as a no-op and effectively disables mmap_base
randomization.
Finally, replace calls to get_random_int() with get_random_long() where
appropriate.

At ibm vtpm initialzation, tpm_ibmvtpm_probe() registers its interrupt
handler, ibmvtpm_interrupt, which calls ibmvtpm_crq_process to allocate
memory for rtce buffer. The current code uses 'GFP_KERNEL' as the
type of kernel memory allocation, which resulted a warning at
kernel/lockdep.c. This patch uses 'GFP_ATOMIC' instead so that the
allocation is high-priority and does not sleep.

This merge brings us up to date with upstream kernel.org tag v3.10.73.
As part of the conflict resolution, changes introduced by commit 72684eae7
("arm64: Fix up /proc/cpuinfo") have been intentionally dropped, as they
conflict with Android changes msm-3.10 kernel to solve the problems
in a different way. Since userspace readers of this file may depend on
the existing msm-3.10 implementation, it's left as-is for now. The
commit may later be introduced if it is found to not impact userspaces
paired with this kernel.

Merge commit 'v3.10.67' into LA.BF64.1.2.9
This merge brings us up to date with upstream kernel.org tag v3.10.67.
It also contains changes to allow forbidden warnings introduced in
the commit 'core, nfqueue, openvswitch: Orphan frags in skb_zerocopy
and handle errors'. Once upstream has corrected these warnings, the
changes to scripts/gcc-wrapper.py, in this commit, can be reverted.

commit 62dfd912ab3b5405b6fe72d0135c37e9648071f1 upstream.
Problem: When IMA and VTPM are both enabled in kernel config,
kernel hangs during bootup on LE OS.
Why?: IMA calls tpm_pcr_read() which results in tpm_ibmvtpm_send
and tpm_ibmtpm_recv getting called. A trace showed that
tpm_ibmtpm_recv was hanging.
Resolution: tpm_ibmtpm_recv was hanging because tpm_ibmvtpm_send
was sending CRQ message that probably did not make much sense
to phype because of Endianness. The fix below sends correctly
converted CRQ for LE. This was not caught before because it
seems IMA is not enabled by default in kernel config and
IMA exercises this particular code path in vtpm.
Tested with IMA and VTPM enabled in kernel config and VTPM
enabled on both a BE OS and a LE OS ppc64 lpar. This exercised
CRQ and TPM command code paths in vtpm.
Patch is against Peter's tpmdd tree on github which included
Vicky's previous vtpm le patches.

commit eb71f8a5e33fa1066fb92f0111ab366a341e1f6c upstream.
The tpm_ibmvtpm module is affected by an unaligned access problem.
ibmvtpm_crq_get_version failed with rc=-4 during boot when vTPM is
enabled in Power partition, which supports both little endian and
big endian modes.
We added little endian support to fix this problem:
1) added cpu_to_be64 calls to ensure BE data is sent from an LE OS.
2) added be16_to_cpu and be32_to_cpu calls to make sure data received
is in LE format on a LE OS.

commit 1ba3b0b6f218072afe8372d12f1b6bf26a26008e upstream.
When sending data in tpm_stm_i2c_send, each loop iteration send buf.
Send buf + i instead as the goal of this for loop is to send a number
of byte from buf that fit in burstcnt. Once those byte are sent, we are
supposed to send the next ones.
The driver was working because the burstcount value returns always the maximum size for a TPM
command or response. (0x800 for a command and 0x400 for a response).

commit 84eb186bc37c0900b53077ca21cf6dd15823a232 upstream.
There was an oops in tpm_ibmvtpm_get_desired_dma, which caused
kernel panic during boot when vTPM is enabled in Power partition
configured in AMS mode.
vio_bus_probe calls vio_cmo_bus_probe which calls
tpm_ibmvtpm_get_desired_dma to get the size needed for DMA allocation.
The problem is, vio_cmo_bus_probe is called before calling probe, which
for vtpm is tpm_ibmvtpm_probe and it's this function that initializes
and sets up vtpm's CRQ and gets required data values. Therefore,
since this has not yet been done, NULL is returned in attempt to get
the size for DMA allocation.
We added a NULL check. In addition, a default buffer size will
be set when NULL is returned.

commit 448e9c55c12d6bd4fa90a7e31d802e045666d7c8 upstream.
Some machines, such as the Acer C720 and Toshiba CB35, have TPMs that do
not send IRQs while also having an ACPI TPM entry indicating that they
will be sent. These machines freeze on resume while the tpm_tis module
waits for an IRQ, eventually timing out.
When in interrupt mode, the tpm_tis module should receive an IRQ during
module init. Fall back to polling mode if none is received when expected.

commit d4c5efdb97773f59a2b711754ca0953f24516739 upstream.
zatimend has reported that in his environment (3.16/gcc4.8.3/corei7)
memset() calls which clear out sensitive data in extract_{buf,entropy,
entropy_user}() in random driver are being optimized away by gcc.
Add a helper memzero_explicit() (similarly as explicit_bzero() variants)
that can be used in such cases where a variable with sensitive data is
being cleared out in the end. Other use cases might also be in crypto
code. [ I have put this into lib/string.c though, as it's always built-in
and doesn't need any dependencies then. ]

If an SMD device is closed while the device is active and then
immediately re-opened, then a delayed work item may get processed while
data structures are in the process of being re-initialized.
Move initialization of data structures to device creation which happens
once during module initialization.

If any of userpsace component invokes smd_pkt functions in an undesired
manner, it may result in signification number of error logs.
As a result system might be watchdogged leading to a crash.
To minimize the number of error logs, pr_err is replaced with
pr_err_ratelimited to print error logs in a controlled manner.
This is only updated in fops functions which are called by
user space functions. This fix only reduces the likelyhood
of an errant user space program causing a watchdog. It is always
advisable to invoke smd_pkt functions in appropriate manner.

In addition to bringing in upstream commits, this merge also makes minor
changes to mainitain compatibility with upstream:
The definition of list_next_entry in qcrypto.c and ipa_dp.c has been
removed, as upstream has moved the definition to list.h. The implementation
of list_next_entry was identical between the two.
irq.c, for both arm and arm64 architecture, has had its calls to
__irq_set_affinity_locked updated to reflect changes to the API upstream.
Finally, as we have removed the sleep_length member variable of the
tick_sched struct, all changes made by upstream commit ec804bd do not
apply to our tree and have been removed from this merge. Only
kernel/time/tick-sched.c is impacted.

If the renamed symbol is defined lib/iomap.c implements ioport_map and
ioport_unmap and currently (nearly) all platforms define the port
accessor functions outb/inb and friend unconditionally. So
HAS_IOPORT_MAP is the better name for this.
Consequently NO_IOPORT is renamed to NO_IOPORT_MAP.
The motivation for this change is to reintroduce a symbol HAS_IOPORT
that signals if outb/int et al are available. I will address that at
least one merge window later though to keep surprises to a minimum and
catch new introductions of (HAS|NO)_IOPORT.
The changes in this commit were done using:
$ git grep -l -E '(NO|HAS)_IOPORT' | xargs perl -p -i -e 's/\b((?:CONFIG_)?(?:NO|HAS)_IOPORT)\b/$1_MAP/'
