Matt Chen 6958f50ab4 mac80211: flush delayed work when entering suspend
commit a9e9200d8661c1a0be8c39f93deb383dc940de35 upstream.

The issue was found when entering suspend and resume.
It triggers a warning in:
mac80211/key.c: ieee80211_enable_keys()
...
WARN_ON_ONCE(sdata->crypto_tx_tailroom_needed_cnt ||
             sdata->crypto_tx_tailroom_pending_dec);
...

It points out sdata->crypto_tx_tailroom_pending_dec isn't cleaned up successfully
in a delayed_work during suspend. Add a flush_delayed_work to fix it.

Thorsten Horstmann 22ae324e22 mac80211: Fix adding of mesh vendor IEs
commit da7061c82e4a1bc6a5e134ef362c86261906c860 upstream.

The function ieee80211_ie_split_vendor doesn't return 0 on errors. Instead
it returns any offset < ielen when WLAN_EID_VENDOR_SPECIFIC is found. The
return value in mesh_add_vendor_ies must therefore be checked against
ifmsh->ie_len and not 0. Otherwise all ifmsh->ie starting with
WLAN_EID_VENDOR_SPECIFIC will be rejected.

Johannes Berg f862950df3 mac80211: discard multicast and 4-addr A-MSDUs
commit ea720935cf6686f72def9d322298bf7e9bd53377 upstream.

In mac80211, multicast A-MSDUs are accepted in many cases that
they shouldn't be accepted in:
 * drop A-MSDUs with a multicast A1 (RA), as required by the
   spec in 9.11 (802.11-2012 version)
 * drop A-MSDUs with a 4-addr header, since the fourth address
   can't actually be useful for them; unless 4-address frame
   format is actually requested, even though the fourth address
   is still not useful in this case, but ignored

Accepting the first case, in particular, is very problematic
since it allows anyone else with possession of a GTK to send
unicast frames encapsulated in a multicast A-MSDU, even when
the AP has client isolation enabled.

Felix Fietkau 293573d9d0 mac80211: fix purging multicast PS buffer queue
commit 6b07d9ca9b5363dda959b9582a3fc9c0b89ef3b5 upstream.

The code currently assumes that buffered multicast PS frames don't have
a pending ACK frame for tx status reporting.
However, hostapd sends a broadcast deauth frame on teardown for which tx
status is requested. This can lead to the "Have pending ack frames"
warning on module reload.
Fix this by using ieee80211_free_txskb/ieee80211_purge_tx_queue.

Bob Copeland 11d714992e mac80211: mesh: flush mesh paths unconditionally
commit fe7a7c57629e8dcbc0e297363a9b2366d67a6dc5 upstream.

Currently, the mesh paths associated with a nexthop station are cleaned
up in the following code path:

    __sta_info_destroy_part1
    synchronize_net()
    __sta_info_destroy_part2
     -> cleanup_single_sta
       -> mesh_sta_cleanup
         -> mesh_plink_deactivate
           -> mesh_path_flush_by_nexthop

However, there are a couple of problems here:

1) the paths aren't flushed at all if the MPM is running in userspace
   (e.g. when using wpa_supplicant or authsae)

2) there is no synchronize_rcu between removing the path and readers
   accessing the nexthop, which means the following race is possible:

CPU0                            CPU1
~~~~                            ~~~~
                                sta_info_destroy_part1()
                                synchronize_net()
rcu_read_lock()
mesh_nexthop_resolve()
  mpath = mesh_path_lookup()
                                [...] -> mesh_path_flush_by_nexthop()
  sta = rcu_dereference(
    mpath->next_hop)
                                kfree(sta)
  access sta <-- CRASH
Fix both of these by unconditionally flushing paths before destroying
the sta, and by adding a synchronize_net() after path flush to ensure
no active readers can still dereference the sta.
Fixes this crash:
Felix Fietkau 0103c34fed mac80211: minstrel_ht: set default tx aggregation timeout to 0
commit 7a36b930e6ed4702c866dc74a5ad07318a57c688 upstream.
The value 5000 was put here with the addition of the timeout field to
ieee80211_start_tx_ba_session. It was originally added in mac80211 to
save resources for drivers like iwlwifi, which only supports a limited
number of concurrent aggregation sessions.
Since iwlwifi does not use minstrel_ht and other drivers don't need
this, 0 is a better default - especially since there have been
recent reports of aggregation setup related issues reproduced with
ath9k. This should improve stability without causing any adverse
effects.
Johannes Berg 1467bec9a7 mac80211: mesh: fix call_rcu() usage
commit c2e703a55245bfff3db53b1f7cbe59f1ee8a4339 upstream.
When using call_rcu(), the called function may be delayed quite
significantly, and without a matching rcu_barrier() there's no
way to be sure it has finished.
Therefore, global state that could be gone/freed/reused should
never be touched in the callback.
Fix this in mesh by moving the atomic_dec() into the caller;
that's not really a problem since we already unlinked the path
and it will be destroyed anyway.
This fixes a crash Jouni observed when running certain tests in
a certain order, in which the mesh interface was torn down, the
memory reused for a function pointer (work struct) and running
that then crashed since the pointer had been decremented by 1,
resulting in an invalid instruction byte stream.
The ifmgd->ave_beacon_signal value cannot be taken as is for
like that for better accuracy of the EWMA calculations. This
Bob Copeland 957c0c65c7 mac80211: enable assoc check for mesh interfaces
commit 3633ebebab2bbe88124388b7620442315c968e8f upstream.
We already set a station to be associated when peering completes, both
in user space and in the kernel.  Thus we should always have an
associated sta before sending data frames to that station.
Failure to check assoc state can cause crashes in the lower-level driver
due to transmitting unicast data frames before driver sta structures
(e.g. ampdu state in ath9k) are initialized.  This occurred when
forwarding in the presence of fixed mesh paths: frames were transmitted
to stations with whom we hadn't yet completed peering.
Michal Kazior 5c817fb317 mac80211: prevent possible crypto tx tailroom corruption
commit ab499db80fcf07c18e4053f91a619500f663e90e upstream.
There was a possible race between
ieee80211_reconfig() and
ieee80211_delayed_tailroom_dec(). This could
result in inability to transmit data if driver
crashed during roaming or rekeying and subsequent
skbs with insufficient tailroom appeared.
This race was probably never seen in the wild
because a device driver would have to crash AND
recover within 0.5s which is very unlikely.
I was able to prove this race exists after
changing the delay to 10s locally and crashing
ath10k via debugfs immediately after GTK
rekeying. In case of ath10k the counter went below
0. This was harmless but other drivers which
actually require tailroom (e.g. for WEP ICV or
MMIC) could end up with the counter at 0 instead
of >0 and introduce insufficient skb tailroom
failures because mac80211 would not resize skbs
appropriately anymore.
Bob Copeland 58aef0a81c mac80211: drop unencrypted frames in mesh fwding
commit d0c22119f574b851e63360c6b8660fe9593bbc3c upstream.
The mesh forwarding path was not checking that data
frames were protected when running an encrypted network;
add the necessary check.
Michal Kazior 1feca9723e mac80211: disable u-APSD queues by default
commit aa75ebc275b2a91b193654a177daf900ad6703f0 upstream.
Some APs experience problems when working with
U-APSD. Decreasing the probability of that
happening by using legacy mode for all ACs but VO
isn't enough.
Cisco 4410N originally forced us to enable VO by
default only because it treated non-VO ACs as
legacy.
However some APs (notably Netgear R7000) silently
reclassify packets to different ACs. Since u-APSD
ACs require trigger frames for frame retrieval
clients would never see some frames (e.g. ARP
responses) or would fetch them accidentally after
a long time.
It makes little sense to enable u-APSD queues by
default because it needs userspace applications to
be aware of it to actually take advantage of the
possible additional powersavings. Implicitly
depending on driver autotrigger frame support
doesn't make much sense.
Johannes Berg 5f37daa4cb mac80211: free management frame keys when removing station
commit 28a9bc68124c319b2b3dc861e80828a8865fd1ba upstream.
When writing the code to allow per-station GTKs, I neglected to
take into account the management frame keys (index 4 and 5) when
freeing the station and only added code to free the first four
data frame keys.
Fix this by iterating the array of keys over the right length.
before) which wouldn't allow the LED to rest at all.
Fixes https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89431 which also had the
patch.
Johannes Berg 2e613ff8d8 mac80211: fix use-after-free in defragmentation
commit b8fff407a180286aa683d543d878d98d9fc57b13 upstream.
Upon receiving the last fragment, all but the first fragment
are freed, but the multicast check for statistics at the end
of the function refers to the current skb (the last fragment)
causing a use-after-free bug.
Since multicast frames cannot be fragmented and we check for
this early in the function, just modify that check to also
do the accounting to fix the issue.
Karl Beldan 9c31f4eca5 mac80211: fix typo in starting baserate for rts_cts_rate_idx
commit c7abf25af0f41be4b50d44c5b185d52eea360cb8 upstream.
It affects non-(V)HT rates and can lead to selecting an rts_cts rate
that is not a basic rate or way superior to the reference rate (ATM
rates[0] used for the 1st attempt of the protected frame data).
E.g, assuming drivers register growing (bitrate) sorted tables of
ieee80211_rate-s, having :
- rates[0].idx == d'2 and basic_rates == b'10100
will select rts_cts idx b'10011 & ~d'(BIT(2)-1), i.e. 1, likewise
- rates[0].idx == d'2 and basic_rates == b'10001
will select rts_cts idx b'10000
The first is not a basic rate and the second is > rates[0].
Also, wrt severity of the addressed misbehavior, ATM we only have one
rts_cts_rate_idx rather than one per rate table entry, so this idx might
still point to bitrates > rates[1..MAX_RATES].
commit bb512ad0732232f1d2693bb68f31a76bed8f22ae upstream.
This reverts commit 24aa11ab8a.
That commit was wrong since it uses data that hasn't even been set
up yet, but might be a hold-over from a previous connection.
Additionally, it seems like a driver-specific workaround that
shouldn't have been in mac80211 to start with.
of list_next_entry was identical between the two.
irq.c, for both arm and arm64 architecture, has had its calls to
__irq_set_affinity_locked updated to reflect changes to the API upstream.
Finally, as we have removed the sleep_length member variable of the
tick_sched struct, all changes made by upstream commit ec804bd do not
apply to our tree and have been removed from this merge. Only
Johannes Berg d13ab64e7a mac80211: fix on-channel remain-on-channel
commit b4b177a5556a686909e643f1e9b6434c10de079f upstream.
Jouni reported that if a remain-on-channel was active on the
same channel as the current operating channel, then the ROC
would start, but any frames transmitted using mgmt-tx on the
same channel would get delayed until after the ROC.
The reason for this is that the ROC starts, but doesn't have
any handling for "remain on the same channel", so it stops
the interface queues. The later mgmt-tx then puts the frame
on the interface queues (since it's on the current operating
channel) and thus they get delayed until after the ROC.
To fix this, add some logic to handle remaining on the same
channel specially and not stop the queues etc. in this case.
This not only fixes the bug but also improves behaviour in
this case as data frames etc. can continue to flow.
Johannes Berg ef55c176c6 mac80211: fix suspend vs. authentication race
commit 1a1cb744de160ee70086a77afff605bbc275d291 upstream.
Since Stanislaw's patch removing the quiescing code, mac80211 had
a race regarding suspend vs. authentication: as cfg80211 doesn't
track authentication attempts, it can't abort them. Therefore the
attempts may be kept running while suspending, which can lead to
all kinds of issues, in at least some cases causing an error in
iwlmvm firmware.
Fix this by aborting the authentication attempt when suspending.
commit 115b943a6ea12656088fa1ff6634c0d30815e55b upstream.
Jouni reported that when doing off-channel transmissions mixed
with on-channel transmissions, the on-channel ones ended up on
the off-channel in some cases.
The reason for that is that during the refactoring of the off-
channel code, I lost the part that stopped all activity and as
a consequence the on-channel frames (including data frames)
were no longer queued but would be transmitted on the temporary
channel.
Fix this by simply restoring the lost activity stop call.
  "mac80211: fix oops on mesh PS broadcast forwarding"
due to the check to vif.type in ieee80211_get_buffered_bc before.
As the later commit intended to fix the MESH case, fix it
by checking for IFTYPE_AP instead of IFTYPE_AP_VLAN.
Sunil Dutt 285c522160 cfg80211: Pass TDLS peer capability information in tdls_mgmt
While framing the TDLS Setup Confirmation frame, the driver needs to
know if the TDLS peer is VHT/HT/WMM capable and thus shall construct
the VHT/HT operation / WMM parameter elements accordingly. Supplicant
determines if the TDLS peer is VHT/HT/WMM capable based on the
presence of the respective IEs in the received TDLS Setup Response frame.
The host driver should not need to parse the received TDLS Response
frame and thus, should be able to rely on the supplicant to indicate
the capability of the peer through additional flags while transmitting
the TDLS Setup Confirmation frame through tdls_mgmt operations.
Johannes Berg c02d9a9697 mac80211: fix association to 20/40 MHz VHT networks
commit cb664981607a6b5b3d670ad57bbda893b2528d96 upstream.
When a VHT network uses 20 or 40 MHz as per the HT operation
information, the channel center frequency segment 0 field in
the VHT operation information is reserved, so ignore it.
This fixes association with such networks when the AP puts 0
into the field, previously we'd disconnect due to an invalid
channel with the message
wlan0: AP VHT information is invalid, disable VHT
Johannes Berg e713fe3d4b mac80211: don't validate unchanged AP bandwidth while tracking
commit 963a1852fbac4f75a2d938fa2e734ef1e6d4c044 upstream.
The MLME code in mac80211 must track whether or not the AP changed
bandwidth, but if there's no change while tracking it shouldn't do
anything, otherwise regulatory updates can make it impossible to
connect to certain APs if the regulatory database doesn't match the
information from the AP. See the precise scenario described in the
code.
This still leaves some possible problems with CSA or if the AP
actually changed bandwidth, but those cases are less common and
won't completely prevent using it.
